Perique (Pronounced pe-reek), provides a distinctive, rich and spicy taste and is among the rarest and most sought after types of tobacco. In order for tobacco to be called Perique it must be force-fermented. This process involves aging the tobacco under pressure in oak whiskey barrels.The tobacco used in this product, and in all Natural American Spirit products, 100% free of chemical additives. It contains only whole leaf, natural tobacco - No preservatives, no scrap or reconstituted sheet tobacco and no processed stems.

Please note,due to the fact there are no preservatives used in the American Spirit process, the tobacco is fully dried to prevent the growth of mould.
